For prescription medicine you usually pay a Rezeptgebühr at the pharmacy. If you have little money, you may be freed from paying it. Here you prepare the application to the ÖGK.

  3. 3Have your household income checkedHere the ÖGK checks your household income. A Richtsatz is a monthly income limit.Key step
    Why?
    For 2026 the info sheet states 1.308,39 euros net for single people. For couples it is 2.064,12 euros. With high costs due to illness it is 1.504,65 or 2.373,74 euros.

    For 2026 the information sheet lists monthly net thresholds of EUR 1,308.39 single and EUR 2,064.12 couples; with special illness-related expenses EUR 1,504.65 or EUR 2,373.74.
