How it works

These are the key steps, in the right order. Answer the short questions; then you see exactly what applies to you and what is added.

  1. 1Let the office work out the amountThis is about how much Wohnbeihilfe you may get. Only the office calculates the amount.Key step
    Why?
The calculation has many rules. einfach.wien does not calculate an amount.
    What you do
At most €8.67 per m² counts, and only a certain floor area. Electricity, heating and hot water do not count. For a first idea, use the official Wohnbeihilfe checker.
    Where?
MA 50 · WohnbeihilfenstelleDirectly with the named service
    In detail

Have the amount determined officially only

The amount is the difference between eligible and reasonable housing costs. At most €8.67 per m² is counted (reference value €6.67 plus €2 operating costs) and at most the appropriate area: 60 m² for one person, 75 m² for two, +10 m² per further person. Electricity, heating and hot water do not count. For orientation use the official housing benefit checker; einfach.wien calculates no amount.

  2. 2Collect proof for everyone in the householdRecords are papers that prove what you say. For example ID, tenancy agreement and proof of income.Key step
    Why?
The office needs them for everyone in the household, also children. Missing papers can be sent later within a deadline.
    What you do
Scan everything as PDF, no photos. Do not enter ID numbers, income or IBAN in einfach.wien. The IBAN is your bank account number.
